Indigenous People and Land in the Bay Area - A Film Screening and Discussion

“Beyond Recognition,” a film by Michelle Grace Steinberg of Underexposed Films, examines the efforts of indigenous Ohlone people, to reclaim their traditional and sacred lands within the urbanized Bay area, inviting questions about the impacts of both past and present land use and development policies on native people. After the film screening, a panel discussion will be moderated by Alexander Tavizon, Bay Area Outreach Coordinator for the California Indian Environmental Alliance (CIEA). Join us for the viewing and discussion at the San Francisco Metro Center!

About the Estuary Partnership

The San Francisco Estuary Partnership is a collaborative regional program of resource agencies, non-profits, citizens, and scientists working to protect, restore, and enhance water quality and fish and wildlife habitat in and around the San Francisco Bay Delta Estuary. Working cooperatively, we share information and resources that result in studies, projects, and programs that improve the Estuary and communicate its value and needs to the public. The Association of Bay Area Governments is the home agency for Partnership staff and finances. Our offices are located at the Bay Area Metro Center in San Francisco.
